I was in Utah for a while waiting for my niece to be born, therefor the lack of all postings to the blog. I promise to update more soon. But for now here is what happened this afternoon.
I had only had 5 hours of sleep, so I took a nap when Luke and Kylee went to take theirs. I woke up about an hour later to screaming and when I took my earplugs out (yes, I have been wearing earplugs to bed for 5 years now) the screaming sounded like it might be getting closer. Its official people: Luke can crawl out of his crib. No, this is not a good thing, either. In fact, I believe that the days where I could put Luke down to bed and let him cry himself to sleep are over.
Tonight I put him down at the usual time and went down stairs to relax and watch some TV. I heard some movement that sounded like it was upstairs, but in the hallway or something. When I went to go upstairs, my little man was sitting on the stairs. He looked at me and said "play!" I attempted this three more times.
Any suggestions out there? I think I might go crazy if he does this every night. I just cant believe its gotten to this! Did I mention that he wakes up in the middle of the night?
Time for a big-boy bed!! maybe it'll intrigue him enough to stay in it awhile. Give him some books and soft music too. Be patient! All kids do this. They just have to learn...
ReplyDeletehahaha I am so sorry girl- I remember facing the harsh reality that London was no longer going to stay in her crib. I have gotten in the habit of rocking her to almost sleep with some soft music on in the background. The only problem is she is four now and I still rock her everynight! lol- Anyway, I would google super nanny and sleep because I saw her handle this in a really good way. She would just continue to put the child back in their bed and not look or talk to them. very robotic. That way the child didn't get any attention (positive or negative) for getting out of bed. Eventually they gave up and went to sleep. I took a few exhausting hours for a few nights but paid off big time in the end. Other then that I don't know. It is hard when they get into the blasted terrible two stage and they get a mind of their own! Good luck! And remember to call a friend or step away if you get too frustrated! lol
