My Photography Lessons

So for the last month I have been taking photography lessons from my friend who is training me to be his assistant for his weddings. I am so thrilled by this, too! So he has given me assignments and homework and books to read to learn more. Its been so much fun to see myself step outside of my comfort zone to get the picture I want. At one point I actually caught myself and though "oh my gosh! I cant believe I am actually standing under the pier on my knees taking picture and not even worrying about what other people are thinking about me." Needless to say, I love the picture I have taken and NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP! They are all originals. I also want to ask of you not to copy these. Thanks so much! =)

one of my "assignments" is to get an album of pictures that look like the alphabet. the picture above looks like a lowercase "b."

this is my most favorite picture ever! I even "wowed" my teacher! 

Bathtime Troubles

So last night I had Kylee in the bath and Luke was watching like always. I was in the room next to the bathroom unpacking and organizing. All of a sudden I hear screaming and Kylee yelling for me. When I went in Luke was in th tub FULLY CLOTHED! I was kind of upset but then I started laughing and went to get my camera. Kylee reenacted how it all happened. I guess Luke has put one foot over the tub and then the other. I have actually seen him do it to boxes and the laundry basket, so it made sense. Anyway, it just made me laugh because Luke is such a little curious George. He's always getting in to things that he isnt supposed to. Kylee was never really like this until she got older. He gets into Bowby's food and will actually eat it if we dont put it away! He also likes unrolling the toilet paper. I have been grateful that I never had a kid who colored on the walls, but I have a hunch that its coming to me sometime in the near future... and I will post pictures for proof, I am sure of it!

I have also been taking photography lessons and have my first official "gig" August 8th! I have assignments and homework and everything. Its really hard doing that when you have kids too. But I managed to get away for a little while today and get some of my homework done. They are too large to post, but I will try to figure out how to size them down so I can show you all. I

 am actually really proud of myself for learning this. Its a lot harder than people think!

I love this picture. This was the first one I took. He's like: "What?! I didnt do anything wrong. I just wanted a bath!"

I caught Kylee trying to "ride" Luke. She got in trouble for it, but then after reviewing this picture, it looks like Luke thinks this is fun. lol

We have been trying to get Luke to walk by letting him push this thing around. Rachel bought it for Kylee when she turned one, and its gotten so much use, too! Luke does well with this. If he falls down he can get back up and start pushing it again. He doesnt know how to turn it yet, but I am sure within the next month he will learn. By the way he is 11 months today! Can you believe its almost been a year?!

More Funny Saying

So this morning I was eating my "mommy cereal" (which is expensive and I dont feel like sharing it with Kylee just so she can waste it) and this is what Kylee said:

"When I get big and am a mommy then I can eat that cereal"

(me) "yes"

(kylee) "when I am a mommy, you will be old and dead?"

then later tonight she said: 

"when do I get to die so I can get my balloons back?" (now this is a funny story- last year Kylee's balloons flew away and to ease her heart-ache I told her that God is going to hold on to them until she sees him again)

Lately Kylee has been asking very deep questions. Death, babies, and I have a feeling that soon she will be asking the big S.E.X question. I am not sure how I should answer that, but I know its coming soon. This is just preparing me.

thanks rachel for this idea! obviously, kylee was a little distracted. she kept saying "i dont know" and i have to rephrase questions. it took her a long time to answer. but this was pretty funny.

"sometimes you say that i need to go to my room and sleep"

"When I obey you"

"by tickling me"

she shrugged her shoulders and then said 25 after a while.

"way too big"

"do nice things"

"you find me"

"i dont know?" with a cute smile on her face

"rolling balls at the ball place" (bowling, and for the record i am not that good)

12. What is your mom not very good at?
"doing projects" (lol- dont know what that means)

13. What does your mom do for a job?
"working on the computer and at the different gym" (she calls it the different gym b/c there are to BAC and i work at one and work out at the other)

14.What is your mom's favorite food?
"lasagna, but you dont like hot sauce like me, but  i like orange chicken" (i love lasagna, but it isnt my favorite. i just thought it was funny what she said)

15.What makes you proud of your mom?
"obeying you" (obviously we have an issue with obeying mommy)

16. If your mom were a Cartoon character, who would she be? (I rephrased this to what Princess would she be - she's not that familiar with cartoons)
"cinderella"

17. What do you and your mom do together?
"we play together, like candyland" (ok, I think we need to do a few more FUN things together)

18. How are you and mommy the same
"you are very tall and i am very small"  (i tried explaining same and opposites, but i dont think she got it)

19. How are you and your mom different?
"you have a pony tail and i dont"

20. How do you know your mom loves you?
"because i do"

21. How do you know that your mom loves your dad?
"because you hug him and kiss him sometime"

22. Where is your mom's favorite place to go?
"to panda" (meaning panda express, and no, its not my fave place to go)

Sleeping Arrangments

so it has been two days since luke started sleeping in his crib at night... is he really going to start doing this or is it just luck? all i can say is that i miss snuggling with him, but thank goodness! Its about time!!!

The Low-Down

So, from my previous post, we moved on Wednesday into our new place in Bellingham. We love it. It was rough moving because no one who said they were coming to help up load actually showed up =( Except a friend came for an house to help load the heavy stuff. We did have a ton of people help unload at our new address. 

Thursday I cleaned the old house and it took me 4 1/2 hours! My fingers felt like sand paper afterwards. It was hell! I remembered why I never want to move again! Plus, we love how close we are to everything in town and I am literally two or 3 blocks from work. 

I am still enjoying work and love getting to know all the new people there. Its great to work at a place where people are trying to better themselves. It makes it very enjoyable. Lets just hope it stays that way? We all know how I am with jobs (he he).

Kylee and Luke get their own playrooms here. Its so nice, too. We bought Kylee a digital clock and told her that if the clock doesnt say "7" then she has to try to keep sleeping. In the North West, the sun rises early and stays up late, therefor Kylee is always thinking its time to get up at around 5:30 or so, and doesnt think its time for bed until around 9pm. She's been doing very well, too.

Luke is still a little stinker and wont let us put him down. He cried when we leave the room. Its just so sad, but frustrating all at the same time. He has another tooth thats broken the surface, which makes it 5 teeth now! 

Not much else is going on. The weather has been so beautiful here. Everyone is out tanning on their front lawns and riding their bikes or walking the streets. I think its only rained for a day and a half the entire time we've been back!
