Funny Prayer

I know, prayers shouldnt be funny, but when your almost 4 year old is saying it- well, it can be! First, let me explain that last October Kylee went to a birthday party and got this cool balloon. She had left it in the car, and when we opened the door, it went flying away. I felt awful! I told Kylee that Heavenly Father and Jesus would hold on to it up in Heaven (which brought on a bunch of deep conversations I was hoping to avoid until she got older). I thought she had forgotten about it, until the other night when she was saying the prayer to bless the food. She said "I cant wait to have my balloon." At first I thought maybe she was talking about this balloon from this party, but quickly thought she couldnt be thinking about that... how could she even remember it? But when we asked her what balloon she was talking about she said "the one from Andrew's party." We had a great laugh about that. She really is so smart and remembers EVERYTHING... Which scares me actually. 

Luke's new moves

Two days ago Luke started crawling forward... but not with his knees. He moves like he's doing the worm. Its really funny to watch. I have been trying to post the video I took, but its not been working for some reason. And today he started holding his bottle all by himself. THANK GOODNESS! Hes just shy of 8 months and all of this new stuff is coming on pretty quickly. 

Kylee

She is the funniest little girl! Right now she's really into playing pretend. She just came up to me and said "do you know how kitties say 'I love you'? They lick each other." And then she licked me. Shes been licking my arm and face all night. As gross as it is, it does put a smile on my face. 

The other funny thing she does is when she talks, she moved her eyebrows up and down. Its so dang funny to watch! 

Retired

We retired the Bumbo cos Luke gets out of it easily. We decided to return it and get a portable high-chair which Luke tried out tonight. His appetite is slowly coming back. He wouldnt eat anything while he was sick with a cold this last month. I am so glad he's feeling better (even though he still has a nasty cough)

Roswell Zoo

The Roswell Zoo is free, and limited on animals, but still very cool. Kylee had so much fun! Here are some pictures from our visit today.

this lama was hysterical! it was way back in the corner and when it saw us approaching it ran over to us. it kind of freaked me out cos i thought it might attack us, but i guess he just wanted to say hello. it chased kylee around when she would run. she got the biggest kick out of him running after her.

peacocks just wander around wild at the zoo. kylee loved feeding it bread... not sure we were supposed to.

i was really fascinated by this beautiful white rooster. 

we have no clue what this is, but we figured that a bunny must have mated with a goat or dog or something. the sign said its actually a rodent. gross!

A New Toy

We went to a play date yesterday at McDonalds and Kylee got a new dog from her Happy Meal. She already has one she's named Buster. When I asked her what this new dogs name was, she paused and then said "White Blacky." I couldn't help myself but to laugh, and then asked if maybe we should pick another name out for him. His new name is Buddy. The funny thing is that hes brown and tan. Could you just imagine Kylee calling his name in public and people staring as if we're racist? Rhett and I had a big laugh about it last night. 

Too Funny

Kylee went and got a tangerine from the fridge and asked if I could help her open it. I said i couldnt cos I was busy, but if she tried then I would help her if she couldnt do it. After a little bit she came to me irritated and said "mom, this is the worst tangerine, ever!" The sad thing is that I am in a bad mood today and I think maybe it rubbed off on her. 

OUCH!

Rhett and I went to the dentist today. I was very happy when they told me what nice teeth I had and how clean they were and how nice my gums looked... until they told me that I have 8 cavities! They said its because I grind my teeth and because I used to bleach my teeth and its ruined the strength of my teeth... but still... No one likes to hear that they have cavities. Rhett has very little that are on the verge of needing fillings, but the dentist said that he should keep an eye out for them and maybe he wont need them. So I am terrified of the dentist... Mainly after I got my wisdom teeth removed 6 years ago. So I asked if they have anything that they could give me when I come back to get my cavities filled. They do have gas, which I will most likely take advantage of. We have to go back in a few months.... I am not looking forward to it!

I thought we left bowby at home...

Apparently, we have a dog in our house. Her name is Kylee and she likes to chew off the ends of my church boots. YES, I am upset, because they are my favorite pair and also because its the only pair I brought to NM. She may be in the doghouse for this one... But seriously, she loves pretending like shes a dog, cat, cow, rabbit... any kind of animal, she has been into pretending to be.

On the other hand, I am thrilled that Luke can sit up on his own. Its about time!!! Hes such a big boy. In his attempt to teach himself how to crawl, hes gotten into humping things. Its hilarious to watch. 

Today

Not much is new here. Last Saturday Rhett treated me to a 1 hour massage and pedicure while he watched the kids. It was a great surprise! Luke slept ALL NIGHT last night. That hasn't happened in a long time, and I don't think its going to stay that way, so I am grateful for the miracle. Kylee has been telling a lot of funny jokes lately. Some of her favorites are:

What kind of dog takes a bath? A sham-poodle!

What kind of dog tells time? A watch dog!

How does bees get to school? A school buzzzzz!

Why shouldn't you tell a joke while ice skating? Cos the ice might crack up!

She plays a Clifford Leapster game and it gives her funny jokes. Shes also been tracing letters on the game. Shes so smart, and we are so proud of her. Shes been growing so tall too. I had to go buy some pants because she tried some of her 3t's on and they were floods! When did that happen? I promise I will post pictures soon. Maybe later today, actually. Luke is filling out so much and hes just about crawling. He can crawl backwards and sideways. We find him under stables and chairs a lot of times. Hes been feeling a lot better. His nose is still stuffy, but thank goodness hes happier and more pleasant!

This seems like a lot of nonsense, but this is honestly the only new stuff thats been going on lately.

Oh! Kylee said something funny the other day. She asked when we'd see Momo and Popo again and I told her I didnt know. She replied "dont tell me you dont know, just tell me!"

update... a little behind on things

so i apologize for not posting anything. happy belated new years! we have pictures, but i forgot our camera at our friends house, so i have not been able to post anything. i have been busy reading the twilight series and rhett is working hard as usual. kylee and luke still have a cold (ugh). but for those of you who know me well, know i am the worlds slowest reader and know i hate reading... but i read new moon in ONE DAY! i am pretty proud of myself, but at the same time, nothing got done. oops. i've been catching up on house work for that one. anyway, i will post pictures as soon as i can!
