New Subject

So Rhett said no more sad blogs.

I am bored tonight and have been playing around with photoshop learning some new ticks n all. Then I realized I havent posted pictures of my last little adventures with the fam. My sister was up a week ago and we had fun berry picking and sight seeing and watching showings and movies.

To explain some of the pictures, Luke has been making weird faces lately. On the last day we took a trip to our home town of Issaquah and looked at the half a million dollar homes that we grew up in (although back then they weren't that expensive). Bowby has found a spot on our couch. After not allowing him on the couch for two years, we figured its about time... plus he looks so darn cute!

I miss my hair... =(

Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day!

I feel like Alexander right now.
How do I explain to my kids that I am having a bad day?
To sum it all up, everything bad keeps happened.
And the one thing that topped it off was that we found out that the people who we swapped houses with needs to put their house up for sale. This means that if it does sell, we still have our house up for sale in AZ and we will alas be broke and homeless again.
Why God, WHY?!?!?!
Nothing seems to be going right for us. Did I do something?

Deep Thoughts

So I got my hair cut yesterday. I knew I would be taking a risk because the only person who I like cutting my hair is my brother in law Mike (check Metropolitan Salon on my list of blogs I follow). But Mike doesnt live here, so I had to find someone else. My hair was finally (and I say finally because I had been growing it out for almost 2 years after I had it cut short when I was pregnant with Luke). When I went it I wanted somewhat of an A frame type layer, but longer so that I could pull it back in a ponytail. Well that didnt happen. What DID happen however was that she cut my hair as short as it was when I started growing it out, so basically I have to wait another TWO FREAKING YEARS to grow out again! At least she cut it well. She did do a great job!
Now some of you might be saying "dont worry, it will grow out." I am someone who has a lot of self esteem issues as it is, so my hair is actually something I take a lot of pride in, and so when my hair is ugly, I FEEL ugly. I am having a hard enough time with my weight and recent acne breakout, and not THIS! I just want to cry.
When someone says "you look great" or "I love your haircut!" I wish I could reply "thank you so much!" but instead I glare and it makes problems worse. So why cant we see what other people see in ourselves? My husband says I look "hot" (which I totally disagree on), I just wish I could see what he sees. I wish I could have the kind of confidence that people see in me. I guess I am good at hiding it or something?
Dont ask to see pictures. I really hate my hair, but I am sure I will come around and post a picture eventually. I just dont want to remind myself that its short again.

Yesterday I went to my dear friends wedding and got to take some pictures for her. I am learning photoshop right now and I am having a blast with it so far. Its a lot of hard work though! Here are some of my favorite pictures. Which one is your favorite?

i loved the colored one and the sepia one so i just posted both.

the picture below is my absolute favorite!

there were so many great pictures that i photoshopped into black and white and sepia and i loved the original in color, but i wanted to show some versatility. what do you think? color or sepia/B&W???

Hello Scentsy!

Some of you may know that just this past week I started selling Scentsy. I really missed doing something like this after Shade got rid of their personal shopper program. I have been looking for something that I really love and believe in and I think I found it in Scentsy. For those of who who dont know what Scentsy is, I have copied a statement I wrote from my website (www.scentsy.com/cbowlden)
"I am so excited to share Scentsy with you! There are so many wonderful things about using Scentsy. One of my favorite things is how safe it is for the family. Its lit by a low watt light bulb so the wax can liquefy, but it doesn't get hot enough to burn you if spilled (not to mention incredibly easy to clean!). Scentsy burners and wax are pet and kid safe as well. I also love how you can leave it on all day and night without worrying about turning it off. This is a great benefit you get from using Scentsy instead of a candle. You also get a strong scent from the wax and it covers a large area. I can smell the scent that's burning downstairs all the way up in my kids rooms!
The wax is reusable, so once you are done using one scent and want to switch it out for another, just poor the liquid wax into the container you took it out of and you are able to reuse it later! They are so inexpensive and they last forever. The wax burned at about 6 cents per minute, whereas a candle can burn at 28 cents a minute. I love our 3 pack of wax for $14. Its like getting three different candled for $14!!! If you don't have a lot of counter space we have wonderful wall plug ins. They work great as night lights or in bathrooms, too.
If you are interested in hosting a party please let me know so we can figure out a day we can get together. Parties are great for getting friends together and for earning free product. If you would like to earn free product but don't really want to host a party, we can do a little basket party, which is like a catalog party but with mini samplers so that people can get an idea of what scents they like.
I am really excited about Scentsy. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. In a way, I feel as though its a dream come true, as silly as that may sound. I know once you try Scentsy you wont go back to candles! You will see how wonderful our product is and how much it really has benefited your life and family. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me! Don't hesitate for one second- no question is a dumb question!
Thanks for your support and have a wonderful day!"
The other day I was changing my wax out for a different scent and I had some wax in a container drying and Kylee had bumped it and it spilled all over her hands. She wasnt burned and the wax that was on the counter top just peeled right off! Scentsy uses a soft was so thats its a lot easier to clean if spilled. I am SO sold on this product and I know that you guys will love it! My personal opinion is that everyone can benefit from it and everyone who loves candles will easily be addicted to Scentsy, as I have been. If you guys would like to buy some or try some out, please email me or go on to my website and check it out. They have a lifetime return policy on the warmers and if you dont like a scent you get, you have 30 days to return it or exchange it. I also have a bunch of samples I can mail out to you, so dont hesitate to ask! =)
Thanks for your support!
