New Beginnings

Its funny to me when I see mothers crying when they drop their kid off for the first day of Kindergarten. I was so excited for Kylee to start, if I did cry, it would have been tears of joy! This isn't at all me being mean, its just that she has been ready for school for a long time now. The social, structural and physical part of school is what I think she looks forward to most. In fact, she wasn't the least bit nervous. I think it helps that she has a such rad, super sweet teacher. I couldn't be more excited to see how this year is going to go. She already knows some of the kids in her class from the gym daycare.

I also want to add that we are LOVING where we are at! The school is a short walking distance, we live in a cul-de-sac and we have the BEST neighbors you could ask for! Kylee has already made several friends here. Some that are younger and older than her. Either way she now has someone to play with. We feel incredibly blessed to live in such a great neighborhood and city.

This little guy is moving from his "Yo Gabba Gabba" phase right into Dora, Mickey Mouse and Elmo phase. I have to say I am so sad, because I really enjoy watching YGG with him.

On the beautiful walk home. I'm borrowing a friends 70-200 lens. Its AMAZING!

I know this looks bad. I promise you we are not white trash! Kylee put this jacket of hers on her little brother. I just thought it looked so funny.

Our super sweet neighbors have an 8 year old Kylee plays with. They frequently sell flowers, water and juice on the trail next to the house to travelers. These flowers were left over and they kindly gave them to us.
My little Kylee is growing up! She's making PB&J sandwiches ALL BY HERSELF! i seriously couldn't be more proud of her!

This is what happens when you dont blog in a long time...

...you get one LOOOOOONG blog post! I apologize ahead of time.

So, before I went on a minor hiatus, I think we left off with my sister and nice in town visiting.

The first day (or maybe it was the second day) my sister and I went to a yard sale right up the street from my house and found two side tables for $5 each (they were actually a bit more, but my sister is the queen of bargaining). I am embarrassed to say that I have been married 7 1/2 years and have never had a headboard or side tables... Two down, one to go!

Anyway, we went to The Home Depot and bought some sand paper and spay paint and some new knobs for the drawers. Within a couple hours we had 2 new bedside drawers. My sister did most of the work (she enjoys it, just ask her) but I did do my share of spray painting. My arms hurt for a week after from doing it, too!

Then a couple days later my mother came to visit too. I always love when my mom comes to visit because all we do is laugh and have a blast together. It was a triple wammie with my mom AND sister being in town! I was in pure Heaven.

We went to the Northwest Fair (otherwise known as the Lynden Fair). My fantastic, sweet, and beautiful friend Lindsey came along with us. We forgot the stroller for Luke and by the end of the trip there, he was in Remee's stroller because he kept running off. He's my curious little monkey.

At the end of the week, my sister, mom and myself went to Oregon for my cousins wedding. You can see some of the pictures here.

MOST OF THESE PICTURES ARE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA. I DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO EDIT ALL OF THEM. I'M SORRY THAT THEY ARENT MY HIGHEST QUALITY.

no, thats not my baby in the frame. allie was using the frame (which i make and sell) for display purposes only

this picture makes me laugh. it looks like the kid is looking at the cows butt, but in reality, he's looking around the cow. bad angle i guess.

i thought this pony had funny looking bangs. totally out of style! lol

we told luke and kylee to put their hands under their chins. this is what luke did:
my mom was saying "the cows say 'moo.'" i love lukes face! priceless.
okay, so let me explain. luke has learned how to crawl out of his crib. i had already put him down several times and finally just gave up after a while. whe he gets out he'd sit at the top of the staircase or at the middle landing. i forgot that i knew he had gotten out and when i went to go check on the kids before bed (around 11pm or so), this is what i found. so precious!

Day One

Rhett and I picked Allie and Remee up from the airport last night, went to dinner and came home and went to bed. Kylee and Luke have been so good with little Remee. Luke is mostly fascinated by her and just watches her, but Kylee interacts by singing and talking "baby" to her.
One of my favorite things about Washington is that wild black berries grow everywhere. I have found such an amazing recipe for cobbler. I have tried blue berries, and blackberries, and the blackberries are by far the best! here is the recipe:http://eatathomecooks.com/2009/06/cherry-cobbler-or-blackberry-or-mixed-berry.html

Big News...

No, we're not pregnant (praise the Lord!). But Kylee has learned how to ride her bike with no training wheels!!! This is so huge, it made me tear up a bit watching it. This is such a big event in her life.

The weather has been really nice (but mild) this Summer. One day Rhett decided it was time for Kylee to learn how to ride with no training wheels. We took her to an empty parking lot near Rachel's house and on her first try she rode all by herself. The problem, however, is that she scares herself. She doubts her mad skills and thats when she wobbles for a but and crashes. But she is one tough cookie. Even when she did fall, she didnt cry. She just got right back up on the bike and tried again.

After we all went for $1 ice cream at McDonalds.
