A Little Behind

So some of these are from when my family was out for Kylee's birthday. We went to a local park since the weather was so nice. Kylee finally learned how to pump all by her self on the swing! We have been trying to teach that to her for the last year and it finally sunk in, I guess.
It was so nice to have my mom around. I always enjoy her company. Maybe since her and I are so much alike. We spend all of our time laughing. She's such a fun, pleasant person to be around. I love her and miss her everyday!!!
I havent had much going on the last couple weeks, so I have been playing with photoshop again. I love photoshop almost as much as I love taking pictures. Its amazing the things you can do on that thing.
Rhett and I recently celebrated our 7 years of marriage at the top of the Space Needle in their restaurant. It was delish, too! I took our mashed potatoes home, but there was a bagger outside, so I gave them to her. Its been a great 7 years and we are still learning things along the way. I am happier now than I was when I first got married, and thats the truth!

(this was our desert! the waitress took this picture, thats why its not the greatest photo, just FYI)

the picture above is my favorite. i love that he holds his hands like that. he's also been into crossing his legs. dont ask me why i think its so darn cute!

Random Stuff

I am just getting around to editing these photos. I still have a bunch to fix from the park when my grandparents were here.

I have been cleaning the house today and just relaxing since this last week was so busy. I found Luke's missing DC shoes that we thought were lost along with a new blanket that I bought Kylee. Note to self: when thinking something is lost, check the play room!

Luke's Haircut

I was at a infant shoot the other day when I got a message from my husband. It was a picture of Luke's new haircut. Rhett and I had talked a lot about cutting Luke's hair, but I never would have shaved his head! I was in shock. I am still not used to it. When I get him out of his crib in the morning, it totally trips me out! I miss his hair. We have actually been calling his "Tosh" because we think he looks like Daniel Tosh, the comedian.

If you havent seen Tosh.0 on Comedy Central, you might want to check it out. We love it! He's hilarious!

Moment of Embarrassment

I enjoy MOPS so much. Not only do I get a chance to meet new moms and get a couple hours of adult time, but I learn something every time I go. Today we had a nutritionist come and speak on healthy eating habits for families. I was quite embarrassed listening to her talk about healthy foods and why we shouldnt eat, well, basically the way I eat and I make my kids eat. No one really knew it, but I just felt horrible! I am so upset with myself for the way I have been feeding not only myself, but my kids and husband. I know better than to feed my family fast food and frozen chicken nuggets and whatnot. But put aside all the guilt and shame and embarrassment, I learned so much. I wanted to share some of what I learned with who ever is reading this (I have no clue who you are, so leave a comment and let me know).

-Trans Fat = not good. Its basically a "bad" fat.

- If you have a hard time saying "no" to cravings and bad foods, you may be low on protein. Protein helps you to say no to bad food cravings. QUALITY protein is key (just because a volture is a type of meat doesnt mean its good for us.) Know where your meat is coming from.

- There are healthier sugar substitutes out there that are not stripped of all nutrition and bleached and deodorized like regular sugar is. Here are some of the healthier alternatives: pure maple syrup, honey, brown rice sugar, sucanat, blackstrap molasses, and stevia.

-DONT BE A SLAVE TO ANY DIETARY PLAN. Everything in moderation people!!!

-when shopping, try to pick something thats been farmed close to where you live, NOT in another state or country.

-Eat REAL food. NOT processed or anything that you think may be processed.

- Be sure to get enough healhty fat. This will help you lose weight. Healhty fats are Omega 3's and Omega 6's.

-Just because its called a vegetable, doesnt mean its good for you. For example: CORN!

-Feed kids often and be sure to give them a choice of veggie with every meal. This principle works great for picky eaters. Sit down with your child and let them know why this food is healthy for them.

- Kids will eat ANYTHING in a fort!

Keep it simple and make it fun =)

Thank you Brenda Wollenberg for all your great information!

Kylee's Birthday

I have a lot of stuff to catch you all up on, but today we had Kylee's 5th Birthday party at Jump Around Fun Zone. It was costly, but very fun! We had a wonderful turnout, too. Planning parties are always hard because you never know if anyone will show up. Thank you to all of our wonderful friends who supported Kylee today. She had an awesome day and is very happy playing will all of her new Barbie's and toys.
A lot of the pictures are blurry, but because I didnt have a flash, so my shutter speed was a but slow. I am still trying to master my new camera for indoor shooting.
